Remittances increased by 7.3 percent

Kathmandu. Remittance inflow has increased by 7.3 percent during the review period. Nepal Rastra Bank, while publishing the financial statement for the seven months of the current fiscal year today, has stated that remittance inflow has increased by 7.3 percent to Rs. 900 billion 580 million.

Remittance inflow had increased by 18.8 percent during the same period of the previous year. Remittance inflow in US dollars has increased by 5.3 percent to Rs. 6 billion 650 million. The previous year, such inflow had increased by 16.4 percent.

Net secondary income (cash transfer) has reached Rs. 985 billion 170 million during the review period. Such income was Rs. 910 billion 770 million during the same period of the previous year. During the review period, the number of Nepalis who obtained final work permits (institutional and individual-new) for foreign employment was 2,74,622 and the number of those who obtained re-work permits was 1,90,886. In the same period of the previous year, such numbers were 2,45,432 and 1,57,045, respectively.
