Kathmandu. Remittances have been coming in aggressively lately. Due to the attraction of Nepali youths in foreign employment, the number of youths going abroad has increased and remittances are also coming accordingly.
According to the data released by Nepal Rastra Bank, remittances amounted to Rs 1.74 trillion in the first six months of the current fiscal year. In the month of July, remittances were Rs 177 billion, while in the month of June, remittances were Rs 189 billion. The remittance inflow in June of the last fiscal year is a record. Before that, remittances had not crossed Rs 189 billion.
However, remittances have been declining for the last two months. The remittance inflow in the month of August 2082 is the lowest since June. Remittances amounted to Rs 1.76 trillion in the month of May.
