Kathmandu. The stock market regulators and operators have reflected the protests of Genji on September 23 and 24. The employees themselves padlocked the securities board of Nepal (SEBON) and Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) today, giving a glimpse of the recent Zenji agitation. The employees of both the agencies have padlocked the office putting forth various demands.

Employees of the Securities Board of Nepal (SEBON) have padlocked the office and snatched the vehicle keys of the deputy director to the chairperson, demanding that it belong to an autonomous organization. “Our main demand is that our office should be an autonomous institution. We have also informed the Ministry of Finance about this,” said a leader of the employees. That is why we are compelled to agitate.

According to the employee leader, after snatching the vehicle keys, the deputy director to the chairman have returned home calling their own vehicle or someone else’s vehicle. “But tomorrow you will have to come to the office,” the employee leader said, “Will you take office facilities but not talk about the autonomy of the office? That doesn’t happen anymore. The movement will not stop until a conclusion is reached. ’

The employees of the Securities Board of Nepal (SEBON) said that they were not satisfied with the Ministry of Finance’s decision to cut off the facilities they were receiving. “It is true that the facilities and facilities have been curtailed according to the current situation, but the Ministry of Finance did not do injustice to us by intervening repeatedly,” another employee said, “That’s why we have demanded that the Securities Board should be an autonomous body.” ’

Recently, the Ministry of Finance had directed the Securities Board of Nepal (SEBON) to inform it if any decision has to be taken.

Similarly, the employees of NEPSE have also detained the CEO and chairman of the market over the issue of allowances they are entitled to. They have detained NEPSE Chairman Hemant Basyal and CEO Chudamani Chapagain in their office.

NEPSE has been dissatisfied with the allowance (bonus) of its employees for a long time. The same issue has taken a violent form today.

At the time of filing this report, NEPSE Chairman Basya and CEO Chapagain have been locked in the office. “We will not open the doors until our demands are addressed,” said one of the staffers.
