Kathmandu. Rasuwa: The Nepal Insurance Authority (INSURANCE) has made public the latest details of the damage claims caused by the massive floods and landslides in Rasuwa in the last week of June.
According to the NRA, a total of Rs 289.26 million worth of claim applications have been received as per the compensation claim details received from non-life insurers till July 15.
Shikhar Insurance has received the highest amount of compensation claim application worth Rs 161.21 million. Similarly, Neco Insurance has received claims worth Rs 51.2 million, Sagarmatha Lumbini Rs 34.15 million and Nepal Insurance Rs 12.85 million.
Although the number of claims under marine insurance is small, the highest amount of claim has been claimed. A total of six claim petitions have been filed by the insured claiming compensation worth Rs 157 million 10 thousand.
A claim of Rs 55.5 million has been sought through four applications under the Engineer and Contractor Risk. A total of Rs 41.85 million has been claimed through 10 applications under the property insurance scheme.
Flood Claims Rasuwa 2082Apart from this, compensation claims worth Rs 11.75 million have been filed through 11 applications on the motor insurance (private) side, while compensation claims worth Rs 23.15 million have been filed through 32 applications from the motor insurance (public).
Nine people were killed and several others were damaged when the Bhotekoshi River and Sunkoshi River in Rasuwa, originating in China’s Tibet province, were flooded on July 14. The Miteri bridge connecting Nepal and China has also been washed away by the floods.
