Kathmandu. The protests, which began in July 2024, reached their peak in August, when businessmen close to the government set fire to the houses, buildings, businesses and hotels of industrialists.
The same scene is now being repeated in Kathmandu. Protesters have set ablaze the five-star hotel Hilton in Naxal, less than a few hours after arson at the educational institution Ullens where Foreign Minister Arju Deuba was once associated.
The 18-storey building, located 200 metres away from the police headquarters, was set on fire by the protesters.
The hotel is wholly owned by the Shankar Group.
