Kathmandu. KATHMANDU: Nepal Army (NA) has imposed a nationwide prohibitory order till 5:00 pm on September 10 in order to maintain peace and security in the country.
Issuing a press release today, the Nepal Army informed about the prohibitory order. After this, the Nepal Army has issued a curfew order till 6 am on September 10. “Further information will be disseminated to the general public based on the analysis of the situation,” the NA said.
“The prohibitory order and curfew have been imposed in view of the overall peace and security situation in the country as there is a possibility of various lawless individuals and groups infiltrating into the name of agitation and vandalizing personal and public property, arson, looting, violent attacks targeted at individuals, and attempted rape,” the statement reads. “Vehicles of essential services (ambulance, mortuary vehicle, fire truck, health workers, security personnel) will be allowed to operate during the prohibitory order and curfew,” the press release said. ’
The Nepal Army has warned that any demonstration, vandalism, looting, arson, attacks targeting persons and property in the name of the movement will be considered as punishable offenses and stern action will be taken by the security forces to address the situation in the aftermath of the Jenji agitation.
In this connection, the Nepal Army has urged all the security personnel, civil servants of all services, media persons and the general public not to follow rumours and disseminate only official information and believe only in authenticity. “The Nepal Army is confident that it will continue its respective responsibilities to maintain normal life by maintaining national unity and social harmony,” the statement reads. ’
