Process for distribution of Melamchi water in Balaju and Nagarjuna begins

Kathmandu. Kathmandu Upatyaka Khanepani Limited, Project Implementation Directorate (PID) has started the process for distribution of Melamchi water in Balaju and Nagarjun municipalities of Kathmandu.

Following the directives of Minister for Drinking Water Pradeep Yadav, the Project Implementation Directorate (PID) has started the process for distribution of Melamchi water in Balaju, Bus Park, Chapakot, Chiangli, Lazimpat, Belkote, Shivpuri, Khokan under Kathmandu Metropolitan City-16 and Kageshwori Manohara, Nagarjuna Forest, Vrindavan Mahadev and other areas of Ward No. 1 and 2 of Nagarjun Municipality.

Project Implementation Directorate (PID) Chief Tika Bahadur Chaudhary said that the process for distribution of Melamchi water in Balaju and Nagarjun municipalities has been initiated with the aim of further improving the water supply in the Kathmandu Valley and providing clean and treated water to the citizens.

“Following the campaign to distribute Melamchi water in The Kathmandu Valley and the directives of Minister Xu, we have invited bids for the project today,” he said. Our aim is to provide clean and treated water to the citizens. ”

The total pipe length will be 3,811 meters under the ring road and Balaju for the improvement of distribution network.

According to the Project Implementation Directorate of Kathmandu Upatyaka Khanepani Limited, clean and treated water will be supplied to the citizens from balaju tank.

It is estimated that 270 million liters of water can be supplied daily to different parts of Kathmandu under the Melamchi Project.

According to The Kathmandu Upatyaka Khanepani Limited, the Ministry of Drinking Water believes that it will help solve the water crisis in the Kathmandu Valley to an extent by ending the delay in the distribution of water and moving ahead with the water supply process in Kathmandu in a systematic manner.

With the smooth completion of the process, the citizens of Kathmandu Metropolitan City Balaju and Nagarjun Municipality will receive melamchi treated water on a regular basis in the coming days. For this purpose, the construction of a network for the distribution of clean and clean drinking water of Melamchi to the citizens across the Kathmandu Valley is going on under the fast track.
