Kathmandu. In view of the dire situation in the country, private airlines companies have closed all domestic flights from Wednesday.
Issuing a press release, the Airlines Operators Association of Nepal (AOAN), an umbrella organization of private airlines, informed that all domestic flights have been suspended. “All flights have been suspended for the past two days due to the difficult situation,” the statement said.
The statement said that all flights were closed due to the protests and incidents of violence that took place in the country on Monday and Tuesday, disrupting the movement of passengers to the airport. “As soon as the international airport opens, the association’s member airlines will resume their flights,” the statement said.
The press release also urged all the passengers to contact the concerned airline and help them reach the airport on time.
“The incident of some anarchic and unruly individuals torching the offices of private airlines is condemnable,” the statement reads.
