It is very important for foreigners to get PR in Canada. After receiving a PR card, it proves that someone has a PR status i.e. permanent residence in Canada. To achieve permanent residency status, foreigners must have resided in Canada for at least 730 days in the last five years. These 730 days don’t have to be continuous. Time spent abroad can also be counted in this.

A PR card in Canada depends on what the applicant does and who he or she is traveling with. Time spent outside Canada can be counted as a permanent resident. If one of these conditions is met, it is working full-time for a Canadian business or institution or the federal, provincial or regional government of Canada, if working outside Canada.

How to get PR?

If the applicant is traveling with a spouse or general-law partner, he must be a Canadian citizen. If the applicant is a dependent child and is traveling with his parents, the parent must be a Canadian citizen. Or he or she must be a canadian business outside Canada or a permanent resident working full-time for the Government of Canada.

In addition, regardless of age, the applicant may be eligible for Canadian citizenship even if he is a permanent resident of Canada. The condition is that the applicant must have resided in Canada for at least 1,095 days in the previous 5 years immediately before the date of signing the application.
