Kathmandu. It is estimated that Shikhar Insurance alone will claim more than Rs 2.41 billion in damages caused by vandalism and looting during the Gen-G movement.
According to the insurance company, based on the preliminary information received regarding the damage to the insured property, it is estimated that the claim for compensation is Rs 2.41 billion.
Under the home and property insurance, the claim for loss of insured property is estimated to be Rs 1.77 billion. This is about 73 percent of the total estimated claims.
Motor insurance accounts for the second highest number of claims. Under this, it has to pay compensation of Rs 48.50 crore.
There is a possibility of claiming Rs 13.19 crore under engineering insurance. Under this scheme, Shikhar Insurance has estimated that it will claim Rs 12.66 crore for the damage caused to ATMs and electronic equipments of banks and financial institutions.
