Kathmandu. Nepal Insurance Authority (NEA) has called upon agriculture and livestock insurance loss assessors to participate in the roster.
The AUTHORITY has issued a notice in this regard. The real-time software of agriculture and livestock insurance, which has been constructed in coordination with the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock Development and The Nepal Insurance Authority, has already started. According to Section 28 of the Agriculture, Livestock and Herbal Insurance Guidelines, 2079 BS, the insurer has to assess the loss of up to Rs 500,000 under agriculture, livestock and herbal insurance claims other than accident insurance.
According to Section 29 of the same directive, the AUTHORITY has published this notice for qualified persons or organizations to participate in the roster of the software system by creating an account (account) by going to the AUTHORITY’s url:http://alis.nia.gov.np. In addition, only the damage assessors participating in the roster will be able to act as damage assessors of agriculture and livestock insurance through the software system.
Qualifications required to act as an individual damage assessor
- Nepali citizen,
- Has passed at least 10 plus 2 or proficiency certificate level or equivalent examination in agriculture or botany or livestock related subjects from a recognized educational institution,
- Received the certificate by participating in schedule-8 training on damage assessors conducted by the insurer with the approval of the committee or committee.
Qualifications required to act as a damage assessor as an institution
- must be a firm or company related to agricultural activities registered in accordance with the prevailing law,
- The purpose of the organization should be to act as a damage assessor of agricultural livestock and herbal insurance,
- Any director or office-bearer of the organization or the chief manager or person acting as the executive head of the organization will make point no. (1) Must have fulfilled the qualifications mentioned above.
