Kathmandu. Nepal Insurance Authority (NEA) Chairman Sevtak Pokharel has directed the insurance companies to work on teamwork to achieve the objectives of the insurance company and to expand the reach and development of the entire insurance sector. Insurance Authority Chairman Sevtak Pokharel said this while taking charge as the chairman of the insurance authority today.
Instructing the government to take forward the implementation of the policy provisions related to insurance brought by the government through the budget statement for the fiscal year 2082/83 BS on priority basis, Chairman Pokharel said, “We should work with teamwork to achieve the objectives of the organization and expand the overall development and reach of the insurance sector. ।
On the occasion, Chairman Pokharel directed to carry forward the monitoring and regulation of insurance companies more effectively with an action plan by following the Insurance Act, Rules and Guidelines in letter and spirit.
Chairman Pokharel stressed the need to move forward responsibly to increase access to insurance through insurance awareness, to make the insurance business clean, transparent, competitive and reliable, to enhance the quality of insurance services and to solve the problems seen in the insurance sector.
Welcoming Pokharel on the occasion, Executive Director of Nepal Insurance Authority Sushil Dev Subedi said that the insurance act and rules have been fulfilling the responsibilities assigned to the AUTHORITY with full commitment.
On his arrival, Chairman Sewantak Pokharel was welcomed by NRA Executive Director Sushil Dev Subedi and its directors and employees with khadi, garlands and bouquets.
The Government TAG_OPEN_strong_13 of Nepal has appointed Joint Secretary pokharel of the Ministry of Finance to continue as chairman of the Nepal Insurance Authority until further arrangement. A meeting of the Council of Ministers had formed a three-member inquiry committee under the chairmanship of former High Court judge Krishna Giri in accordance with sub-section 2 of Section 12 of the Insurance Act 2079 BS. After the formation of the inquiry committee, Ojha was automatically suspended.
