Kathmandu. Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) will not require additional approval to open accounts of various bodies under the local level with commercial banks.
According to the Directive of Government Transactions, 2076 (Second Amendment, 2081), the central bank will no longer have to take further approval to operate accounts in the commercial banks approved by the Rastra Bank of the committees, boards and c group of funds under the local level. Earlier, such accounts could be operated only after the permission of the Rastra Bank.
Issuing a circular today, the central bank has directed the commercial banks approved to carry out government transactions to implement this arrangement.
