NMB Bank’s initiative for sustainable investment: IFC and MetLife collaborate

Kathmandu. NMB Bank Limited has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with international financial institutions IFC (IFC) and MetLife (MetLife) for the first time in Nepal to issue green bonds worth US$ 60 million in Nepali rupees.

The bank aim inline_tags_PLACEHOLDER_1 s to increase investment in climate projects, create quality jobs and contribute significantly to the country’s energy sector through the #यस partnership.

The money collected #वण्डबाट inline_tags_PLACEHOLDER_4 will be invested especially in renewable energy sectors such as solar power, electric vehicles, construction of green buildings, biomass projects. The initiative is also expected to contribute to the promotion of climate adaptation and sustainability in Nepal.

Mr inline_tags_PLACEHOLDER_7. Manoj Kumar Goyal, Chairman, Board of Directors of #सम्झौता the Bank expressed his confidence that a transformative leap would be made in the field of renewable energy. He also expressed the belief that this initiative of NMB Bank would further help in minimizing the environmental impact on the sector by bringing foreign capital into the country and investing in the climate sector.
