Kathmandu. The Nepal Insurance Authority (INSURANCE) has directed the employees to provide details including the names of the family members working in the insurance company.
The self-declaration was made after Insurance Khabar published a news report stating that nea employees have misused the authority’s official influence in various insurers to provide job opportunities to their family members and close relatives.
According to NRA spokesperson Sushil Dev Subedi, as per the decision of the BOARD of Directors, information has been sought about which insurance companies the family members of the employees are working in.
What morality drives NIA employees to conduct on-site inspections against their own relatives?
The AUTHORITY has directed the employees to submit details of whether their husband, wife, children or single family members are employed in any insurer, advisor, board member, basic shareholder or supplier of any goods and services. The BOARD of Directors of nea has expressed concern after complaints that such a relationship has led to conflict of interest in the attitude and behavior of the nea employees in viewing the family members working insurers.
