Kathmandu. Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) Newly appointed Governor Bishwanath Poudel has pledged to bring good policy arrangements to make the credit flow of banks dynamic.
Talking to media persons after assuming office at the Rastra Bank today, newly appointed Governor Poudel made this commitment. “There is a need to make the flow of credit dynamic and good policy arrangements will be made for this,” he said, adding that attention would be paid to whether those policy arrangements are being properly mobilized or not. ’
Poudel said his focus would be on strengthening the banks. “If the banks are strong, the investment of the general public will also be secured,” he said.
Poudel also said that the problems seen now will be resolved through monetary policy. “Supervision of banks will also be strengthened,” he said.
A meeting of the Council of Ministers held on Tuesday appointed Economist Poudel as governor. He was administered the oath of office and secrecy before Chief Justice Prakash Man Singh Raut this morning.
