Kathmandu. The newly appointed Executive Director of the Health Insurance Board, Dr. Raghuraj Kafle, has assumed office from Friday.
While assuming office, the newly appointed Executive Director Kafle also expressed his commitment to the work to be done during his tenure. He expressed his first commitment of universal health coverage. ‘My second commitment will be financial sustainability,’ he said, ‘The third is to provide accessible, simple and quality health services, the fourth is to strengthen institutional capacity, and the fifth is to maintain good governance in all work.’
Executive Director Kafle informed that he has also submitted these commitments to the recommendation committee. “Many other small tasks will have to be done to fulfill these commitments,” he said. “I am fully confident that the employees and the government will support this.”
Last Monday, the cabinet meeting decided to appoint Kafle as the executive director of the Health Insurance Board. Earlier, the term of executive director Dr. Damodar Basaula had ended on November 25.
