Kathmandu. KATHMANDU: Employees of the Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) have been protesting against the bonus they are getting. They have decided to call off the protest from Thursday.
Chairman of NEPSE Employees’ Union, Nawaraj Thapa, said that preparations are underway to postpone the protest for the time being as the case related to the bonus to the employees is sub-judice at the court. “Today we will hold discussions and maybe we will postpone the agitation from tomorrow,” he said. We are ready to accept the court’s decision. ’
For the past few years, they have been demanding 5 percent bonus. However, the Ministry of Finance had been sending letters to distribute only 1 percent bonus to the employees.
The employees of NEPSE have been protesting for the past 37 days after they were dissatisfied with the bonus issue. The case is currently sub-judice at the Supreme Court.
