Nepali students have achieved excellent results in the ‘International Coding Competition 2024’ organized by the Distance Education Network and in collaboration with Discovery Education Network UK and Edutech India. School students from Nepal have performed highly in the competition between participants from countries including India, Hong Kong, Middle East, UK, America, Australia and others.
9 students were selected from Nepal for the global competition. Under this, Vinayak Pangeni, a student of class 4 of Excelsior School, secured the global second position in junior block-based coding. Similarly, Shreyash Khadgi, a student of class 5 of Meridian International School, secured the global second position in senior block-based coding.
Krishna Rijal, a student of class 8 of High New Vision Academy, made Nepal proud by securing the global first position in the Python coding category.
Durshika is going to organize a special felicitation ceremony to honor the Nepali students who won the competition. The parents of the students, school principals and other special guests will be invited to the program, informed Krinn Prasad Pandey, Chief Executive Officer of Durshika Education Network. .
For the ‘International Coding Competition 2024’, Distance Education in Nepal, in collaboration with Discovery Education UK, Edutech India, conducted an online and physical competition. ICT Frame was in association with partners for the program. More than 400 students sent projects online in the competition, 80 were selected for the physical competition. Out of them, 9 students were selected for the final stage, i.e. the global competition.
In the competition, students from grades 2 to 4 competed in junior block-based coding, students from grade 5 competed in senior block-based coding, and students from grades 6 to 9 competed in Python coding under various themes.
Durshika stated that this competition helped the participants improve their coding skills and enhance their problem-solving skills.
Durshika, which has been conducting various IT training and programs targeted at schools in Nepal, said that this competition made a significant contribution to improving students’ coding skills, enhancing creative thinking, and enhancing their problem-solving abilities. It has been reported.
