Kathmandu. Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) has advised banks and financial institutions (BFIs) to get information while buying electronic cards.
The central bank has issued a public awareness notice today. According to the Integrated Directive on Payment System Issued by the Rastra Bank, 2081 BS, the banks and financial institutions are required to provide all the necessary information regarding the use of the card along with the application form while issuing debit cards (ATM cards, credit cards, prepaid cards).
The central bank has also advised the customers to get information about the fees charged, transaction limit and additional facilities to be availed from the card before availing the electronic card service. The NRB has also suggested to get information regarding credit cards and other related provisions regarding the interest on the amount used using such cards.
