Kathmandu. KATHMANDU: Nepal Insurance Authority, Koshi Province Office has organized an awareness and interaction programme on insurance at the Office of Cottage and Small Industry, Khandbari.
On the occasion, the meeting discussed the programmes carried out by the Insurance Authority, Koshi Province, and the public awareness and progress made in the insurance sector.
On the occasion, Assistant Deputy Director of Nepal Insurance Authority, Koshi Province, Sachin Rai gave a presentation on the positive aspects of insurance sector in Koshi Province after the establishment of Nepal Insurance Authority’s Koshi Province office and the efforts made to eliminate the wrong practices seen in the insurance sector and to make insurance accessible to the general public.
President of Sankhuwasabha Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Degraj Basnet, said that there was a need to make all the industrialists aware of the importance and necessity of insurance. During the interaction, questions and answers were raised on under-insurance, insurance coverage of monkey attacks, insurance of crops and livestock without insurance policy, insurance continuity problem by the agent keeping high insurance premium, NEA not providing ÷insurance and what to do if the original insurance policy is lost.
Prem Chandra Kulung, chief of the Office of Cottage and Small Industry, said that the office should make the concerned bodies aware of the importance of insurance and its necessity in the coming days and make them aware of the importance of insurance and how to avoid loss and loss in their productivity.
Speaking at the program, President of Federation of Nepal Cottage and Small Industries Sunita Kafle pointed out the need for the government mechanism to create awareness among the cottage industries and businesses in the villages through supportive means.
Responding to the queries raised during the discussions, NRA Chief Preeti Dev urged all to choose appropriate plan such as property, building, stock, accident and health insurance. She also shared information on insurance training, seminars, insurance fair organising, public awareness dissemination through radio and social media, information about claim process, use of complaint system and utilization of available grants.
The program was attended by former presidents of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, representatives of shoe, grill, allo, tailoring, grocery, agriculture, pickle, hotel, furniture entrepreneurs, representatives of insurers and hoteliers’ association.
