Kathmandu. Nabil Bank Limited has organized a walkathon on the occasion of International Women’s Day. The bank has stated that the walkathon was organized with the aim of celebrating the endurance, achievements and contributions of women under the title ‘Women in Motion – Accelerate Action’.
Inaugurating the walkathon at the bank’s central office, the bank’s Chairman Upendra Prasad Poudel wished women on the occasion of the day and said that the bank has given priority to women. He stated that women are leading in various departments of the bank and said that the role of women is important in the development of the bank.
The bank’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Gyanendra Prasad Dhungana informed that the bank is going to celebrate Women’s Day not only today but also by organizing various programs throughout the month of March. “Women also need to come forward for leadership, for which the bank is always ready to provide opportunities in various fields,” he said.
According to the bank, a talkathon was started simultaneously from 12 different locations on the occasion of the day. More than 1,200 employees of the bank participated in the talkathon held in Kathmandu, Biratnagar, Birtamod, Janakpur, Birgunj, Pokhara, Nepalgunj, Tulsipur, Surkhet, Dhangadhi, Butwal and Narayangadh. The bank has expressed its belief that the program will bring about positive changes for building an inclusive society by spreading a message in favor of gender equality.
The participants in the talkathon said that it is necessary not only to walk with the participation of men but also to end the old thinking and discrimination prevalent in the society.
