Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Confederation of Nepalese Industries and Federation of Thai Industries to promote investment

Kathmandu. The Confederation of Nepalese Industries (CNI) and the Federation of Thai Industries (FTI) have signed an agreement to further strengthen economic and business relations between Nepal and Thailand by creating investment opportunities between the two countries. The agreement was signed by the President of the Confederation of Nepalese Industries (CNI) Rajesh Kumar Agrawal and the President of FTI Kriengrai Thennukul in Bangkok, Thailand, in the presence of Honorable Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli and Prime Minister of Thailand Phatthana Shinawatra on Wednesday.

The two organizations have signed an agreement to cooperate in investment and trade promotion, as well as economic and trade-related studies/research, training and capacity development, and exchange of information on legal and policy issues.

As Nepal is a suitable destination country for foreign investors, the President of the CNI Agrawal expressed his belief that this agreement will help attract Thai investment. He said that the government has reformed the laws to help promote investment and investors can benefit from this.

The Confederation has been calling on foreign investors to invest in Nepal, as it is located between two of the world’s largest countries in terms of market share and can benefit greatly from investing in the country.

Nepali representatives who were on a visit to Thailand participated in the signing ceremony of the MoU between the two organizations.
