Kathmandu. The assets of Maha Prasad Adhikari, who has resigned as the Governor of Nepal Rastra Bank, have increased by 2.3 million rupees in a period of 5 years.
Adhikari’s term as Governor ended on Chaitra 24. He was bid farewell by organizing a program at the Rastra Bank last Friday.
After Adhikari left the Rastra Bank, the government has given the responsibility of Deputy Governor Neelam Dhungel Timsina as the acting Governor. Meanwhile, the recommendation committee formed under the coordination of Finance Minister Bishnu Prasad Poudel is taking forward the internal work for the appointment of a new governor.
Adhikari was appointed as the Governor of the National Bank on Chaitra 24, 2076. Since then, Adhikari’s total assets have increased by 23 lakh 44 thousand 410 rupees during his tenure till Chaitra 24, 2081. In Chaitra 24, 2076, his total assets were 3 crore 45 lakh 91 thousand 852 rupees. In Chaitra 2081, his total assets have increased to 3 crore 69 lakh 36 thousand 262 rupees. This total assets are excluding the money in the dollar account.
As of Chaitra 2081, Adhikari has cash, gold and silver worth 9 lakh 88 thousand rupees. As of Chaitra 2077, there was cash, gold and silver worth 503,000 rupees.
The officer has a house valued at 32 lakh rupees and 10 plots of land valued at 18.51 crore rupees.
As of Chaitra 2081, Adhikari’s dollar account at Banijiya Bank had 28,608 dollars (about 32 lakh 35 thousand rupees). As of Chaitra 2066, Adhikari had 2,302 dollars in his dollar account. Over a period of five years, 26,306 dollars have been added to the dollar account.
