Kathmandu. Dr Laxmi Kanta Poudel has been appointed as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of The Insurance Institute of Nepal (IIN).
The recommendation committee had recommended the names of five people who had applied for the post of CEO to the board of directors of IIN. On the basis of the recommendation, the board of directors appointed Dr Poudel of Duradanda, Lamjung, as the CEO.
The board of directors believes that the institute established with the objective of producing skilled manpower required by the insurance industry will become one of the model institutes in the world by providing the right leadership during poudel’s tenure.
The recommendation committee had opened the application for the post of CEO on March 15. Subash Koirala of Kathmandu, Sujan Subedi of Harisiddhi in Lalitpur, Buddhakaji Shrestha of Paknajol, Kathmandu and Narayan Kumar Bhattarai of Dhumbarahi had applied for the post of CEO.
Shortly after being promoted to the post of Executive Director of Nepal Insurance Authority, Sushil Dev Subedi was removed as the CEO of IIN. Subedi was the CEO of IIN since July 1, 2018, before being promoted to the post of Executive Director.
The Executive Director of the Insurance Authority will be the ex-officio Chairman of the Board of Directors of IIN.
