Kathmandu. Kumari Bank has launched a deposit scheme called Green Savings Deposit Account to support the national and international commitments to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals through its services, facilities, processes and business partnerships.
Based on the principle of ‘One Account, One Tree’, for every account opened, one tree will be planted by the bank, so every depositor will have an indirect stake in the protection and promotion of the environment and the account holders will also get the following attractive facilities:

According to Arpan Poudel, head of the bank’s Sustainable Banking Department, the deposit collected from this scheme will have a dual impact on environment conservation as the deposit collected from this scheme will be used to promote sustainable development, disburse loans in areas that create positive impact on the environment and plant a tree for each account.
