Kamana Sewa Bikas Bank holds Banking and Business Conclave in Dhangadhi

Kathmandu. Kamana Sewa Bikas Bank on Friday concluded a Banking and Business Conclave program among industrialists and businessmen based in Dhangadhi under the Kailali Chamber of Commerce and Industry. More than 120 businessmen from Dhangadhi participated in the program, which was organized with the aim of bridging the gap between businessmen and banks in the recent past.

Shivraj Bhatta, General Secretary of the Federation of Journalists Sudurpaschim, moderated the program, while Harishchandra Dhakal, Deputy Director of Nepal Rastra Bank, Dhangadhi, Binay Dahal, Deputy Chief Executive Officer of Kamana Sewa Bikash Bank, FCA Umesh Raj Pandey, and Pushkar Raj Ojha, Senior Vice President of Kailali Chamber of Commerce and Industry, were the speakers.

Speaking at the program, Deputy Director of Nepal Rastra Bank, Harishchandra Dhakal, said that Nepal Rastra Bank should formulate its policies and regulations with a long-term view for economic stability, sustainable development, and economic prosperity, and that banks and financial institutions should be given the opportunity to He said that he is giving instructions. Addressing the complaints of the businessmen, Deputy Director Dhakal said that if there are any complaints against banks and financial institutions, they can also file a complaint with Nepal Rastra Bank.

FCA Umesh Raj Pandey said that although there are differences between banks and businessmen at every stage of the economic cycle, they are complementary to each other, so maintaining financial discipline while conducting business will improve the relationship between banks and businessmen. Pushkar Raj Ojha, Senior Vice President of the Kailali Chamber of Commerce and Industry, said that banks have been reluctant to discuss with entrepreneurs in the current situation, but thanked Kamana Sewa Bikas Bank for organizing such a program. He requested Nepal Rastra Bank and banks and financial institutions to emphasize schemes that will provide relief to entrepreneurs as entrepreneurs have not been able to recover from the Corona situation.

Also, he stressed that banks should protect small and medium entrepreneurs as various policies of regulatory bodies have further affected entrepreneurs and they may flee from business.

Deputy Chief Executive Officer of the bank, Binay Dahal, said that although entrepreneurs have felt uncomfortable when central banks and financial institutions have taken the initiative to maintain regulation and financial discipline in the recent past, it will have a positive impact in the long run, saying that Kamana Sewa Bikas Bank will help entrepreneurs overcome their difficulties. He expressed his commitment to further expand the bank’s business.

At the said program, construction entrepreneurs Laxman Swar and Kishore Thakurathi, gold and silver entrepreneurs Jagat Sijapati and Kamal Prasad Lamichhane, transport entrepreneur Ananta Raj Joshi, health and agricultural entrepreneur Bishnu Burlakoti, gas entrepreneur Chhavi Raj Bhatta and others said that the Nepal Rastra Bank and financial institutions should pay attention to the issue as the strictness of regulatory bodies, the expansion of credit after COVID-19, the migration of young people abroad, and the decline in production and the slowdown in business may cause entrepreneurs to migrate.
