Kathmandu. Insurance claims of Rs 21.75 billion have been made for the damage caused by arson and vandalism during the Genji agitation.
According to the preliminary data released by the Nepal Insurance Authority (NEA), more than Rs 20.70 billion has been claimed by 14 non-life insurance companies and four micro non-life insurance companies for the damage caused by arson and vandalism in different places of the country during the agitation on September 7 and 24. This amount is from 1,984 claims received by the companies.
Oriental Insurance has claimed the highest amount. The company has to pay Rs 5.14 billion for 40 claims.
Similarly, Siddhartha Premiere has claimed the second highest amount. According to the data, the company has to pay Rs 4.93 billion for 258 claims.
In the third position, Shikhar Insurance has to pay Rs 2.39 billion as insurance claims. The company has 366 claims.
Similarly, Sagarmatha Lumbini Insurance, Sagarmatha Lumbini Insurance has claimed Rs 1.47 billion, Himalayan Everest Insurance Rs 1.15 billion and Neco Insurance has claimed Rs 1.09 billion. According to the data, IGI Prudential Insurance has 24 claims, Sagarmatha Lumbini Insurance has 233 claims, Himalayan Everest Insurance has 196 claims and Neco Insurance has 40 claims.
Sanima GIC Insurance has collected Rs 78.93 crore, Rastriya Insurance Rs 49.51 crore, United Ajod Insurance Rs 48.74 crore, Nepal Insurance Rs 46.94 crore, NLG Insurance Rs 38.58 crore, Prabhu Insurance Rs 19.18 crore and National Insurance Rs 6.82 crore.
Similarly, Protective Micro has claimed Rs 1.13 crore, Star Micro Rs 6.7 million, Nepal Micro Rs 56.36 lakh and Trust Micro Rs 4.2 million.
