Kathmandu. A total of 3,300 insurance claims have been filed by non-life insurance companies for physical and other damages during the Genji agitation on September 7 and 24.
Out of the total claim, about Rs 4.38 billion has been paid to the insured by the companies including advance payment. This is only 18.71 per cent of the total claims.
As per the data updated by non-life insurance companies till December 3, out of the total claim amount paid by 14 non-life insurance and 4 micro non-life insurance companies, around Rs 3.21 billion out of Rs 19.88 billion claimed for 710 claims and Rs 1.08 billion out of Rs 3.47 billion for 2,308 claims towards motor insurance have been paid.
Similarly, under engineering and contract risk insurance, the claim amount of Rs 555.55 crore has been paid, under 12 claims of transport insurance, about Rs 66.38 million has been paid and Rs 4.94 million out of 45 claims has been paid.
