Jeevan Bikas Laghubitta’s Volunteer Day at 160 places

Kathmandu. Jeevan Bikas Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha celebrated the Volunteer Day by organizing various creative programmes. On the occasion of the establishment day of Jeevan Bikash Samaj, ‘Jeevan Bikash Volunteer Day’ was observed on Sunday, September 5.

Life Development has 160 branch offices. All the branch offices have organized various programs on the occasion of Volunteer Day. On the occasion of the Volunteer Day, houses have been constructed for 45 poor families through voluntary donation. 27 branches have been cleaning the market, 27 have been cleaning the temple and 27 have been conducting tree plantation programs. A total of 18 branches have carried out the school cleaning and tree plantation programme.

Four police beats have been repaired, 2 municipal offices have been cleaned and 3 ward offices have been cleaned. Two community buildings and two water sources have been cleaned. Under the campaign to save the earth, the development of life has given priority to tree plantation for the protection of the environment.

The program was attended by leaders of the Three Zero Club, local civil society and members of the microfinance. In 2072 B.S., Jeevan Bikash had announced Volunteer Day by donating voluntary labour through members’ conference. The Volunteer Day has been celebrated continuously since 2073 BS.

Chief Executive Officer of Jeevan Bikas Laghubitta, Sanjay Kumar Mandal, said that the Volunteer Day is being celebrated by doing social works to develop the spirit of voluntary labour in the community.

According to him, there was a tradition of volunteering in Nepal by citizens of different countries from abroad. Jeevan Vikas had announced the Volunteer Day with the slogan of celebrating the day by volunteering for the country.

“The Volunteer Day was marked with an objective of developing a culture of voluntary labour in the society”, he said, adding the Volunteer Day is also a medium of social service through voluntary labour. According to him, a culture of voluntary labour has been developing in Nepal in recent period.

Jeevan Bikas has been providing financial services to the doorsteps of more than 3 lakh 55 thousand members in Koshi, Madhesh and Bagmati provinces.
