Kathmandu. Minister for Women, Children and Senior Citizens Nawal Kishore Shah Sudi has claimed that the Ishan Children and Women’s Hospital in Tokha, the capital, will become a hospital that will make the country proud in 10 years. Speaking at the inauguration program of the ‘Multidisciplinary Clinic’ started at the hospital on Saturday with the aim of treating mentally and physically disabled children, Minister Sudi said this.
He said that the new facilities of the hospital are commendable in the context of the increasing number of different types of patients in recent years and the government is not able to provide good treatment for such diseases. Similarly, in the program, the executive director of the hospital, Prof. Dr. Ramanand Chaudhary, gave a detailed account of the services and facilities provided by the Ishan Children and Women’s Hospital, which was established in 2052 BS. Ishan Hospital said that they have started treatment services for all types of diseases of children from birth to 18 years of age.
Similarly, they said that they have started services for all types of diseases, not just childbirth for women. The program was attended by dignitaries from various fields, including Tokha Municipality Chief Administrative Officer Sher Bahadur BC, Private Hospital Association President Dr. Padam Bahadur Khadka.
The hospital, which started its service as the first non-government children’s hospital in Nepal in 2052 BS, has now moved to a modern and environmentally friendly building in Ward No. 5 of Tokha. There are 24-hour pediatric specialist registers for neonatal and pediatric diseases, pediatric surgery, gynecology and obstetrics, orthopedics, neonatal and pediatric intensive care services, ambulance, pathology, ultrasound, X-ray, pharmacy, and canteen services.
The hospital, which has tried to provide services at an international level, has reported that various neonatal and pediatric surgeries and pediatric urology are being performed at different times. The hospital has reported that children from outside Nepal, such as the UK, India, and Bangladesh, have undergone successful surgeries. The hospital has stated that more services will be expanded in the near future.
