Kathmandu. Nepal Insurance Authority, Madhesh Province Office has organized a discussion and interaction program on agriculture and livestock insurance in Siraha on December 10. Discussions were held on the importance of insurance, method of insurance, claim payment process, importance of insurance awareness in expanding the scope of insurance and the current status of agriculture and livestock insurance in Madhesh Province.
The participants said that the real farmers were not aware of the insurance, the process of obtaining insurance was cumbersome, there was a problem in the payment of insurance claims, there was a problem in the agricultural insurance agents, insurance companies were not reaching the farmers and the local level needed to bring programs and budget to support the insurance.
On the occasion, Chief of Nepal Insurance Authority, Madhesh Province Office, Arya Rawal, presented the introduction and importance of insurance, method of insurance, claim payment process and the role of stakeholders in expanding the scope of agriculture and livestock insurance.
The program was attended by Director of Nepal Insurance Authority Kundan Sapkota, Chief of Agriculture Knowledge Centre Narendra Kumar Mahaseth, farmers, seeds and agriculture entrepreneurs, head of branches of non-life insurance companies, insurance surveyors and agricultural insurance agents.
