Insurers’ investment in fixed deposits of banks increased by 10%, how much has reached?

Kathmandu. In the last one year, the investment of insurance companies in fixed deposits of banks has increased by about 10 percent.

According to the data of Nepal Rastra Bank, the current fiscal year 2082. Insurance companies have invested Rs 684.63 billion in fixed deposits of banks in the first four months of the current fiscal year. Previous fiscal year 2081. Insurance companies had invested Rs 623.53 billion in fixed deposits of banks till November 1980. The investment of the insurer increased by 9.80 percent in the review period compared to the previous year.

Currently, there are 14 life insurance companies, 14 non-life insurance companies, 4 micro life insurance, 3 micro life insurance and 2 reinsurance companies.

Similarly, Employees Provident Fund (EPF) has invested Rs 173.52 billion in fixed deposits of banks till mid-November of the current fiscal year. The fund had invested Rs 182.20 billion in the same period of the previous year. The investment of the fund decreased by 4.76 percent in the review period compared to the previous year.

Meanwhile, Citizen Investment Trust (CIT) has invested Rs 145.99 billion in fixed deposits of banks in the review period. The fund had invested Rs 131.75 billion in the same period of the previous year. The fund’s investment has increased by 10.81 percent.

As of the review period, the general public deposits stood at Rs 4,730.15 billion. In the same period of the previous year, the deposits of the general public were Rs. 4160.97 billion. The deposits of the general public have increased by 13.68 percent.
