Kathmandu. The market capitalization of all sectors has increased in the stock market. Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) has released the data for the nine months of the current fiscal year.
According to the data, the market capitalization of insurance companies in NEPSE has increased by 26.37 percent in the last one year. The market capitalization of insurance companies has increased from Rs 504.48 billion till Mid-April last year to Rs 637.54 billion at the end of April this year.
During this one year, there has been a surge in the interest of business group investors. The market capitalization of the business group increased by 1485.9 percent to Rs 257.67 billion at the end of the review period from Rs 16.24 billion in the previous year.
In the last one year, the market capitalization of the investment group has increased by 48.9 percent. The investment group’s market capitalization has increased from Rs 235.73 billion to Rs 351.5 billion at the end of the review period.
Similarly, the market capitalization of other groups increased by 41.6 percent. The total market capitalization of the hydropower group has increased from Rs 328.20 billion to Rs 464.84 billion at the end of the review period.
Similarly, the market capitalization of hydropower group has increased by 39.9 percent, development bank by 36.5 percent, hotel by 26 percent, finance group by 25.6 percent, microfinance by 21.7 percent and production and processing by 3.9 percent in the last one year.
The market capitalization of the banking group has increased by 27.9 percent in this one year. The market capitalization of the banking group has increased from Rs 817.92 billion to Rs 1,046.40 billion at the end of the review period.
During the last one year, the total market capitalization of NEPSE has increased by 37.8 percent to Rs 4425.4 billion. Nepse’s market capitalization stood at Rs 3,212 billion as of March last year.
Commercial bank group has 23.6 percent market capitalization, development bank group 4.5 percent, finance company group 1.8 percent, microfinance group 8.2 percent, insurance company group 14.4 percent, production and processing group 3.4 percent, hotel group 2.6 percent, business group 5.8 percent, investment group 7.9 percent, hydropower group 15.1 percent and other groups 10.5 percent. The share of insurance companies in NEPSE is the third share after banking and hydropower.
