Kathmandu. So far, non-life insurance companies have filed claims worth more than 50 million rupees for the damage caused by the riots that took place during the royalist demonstration in Kathmandu on Chaitra 15.
The Nepal Insurance Authority, while releasing the data received from insurers as of Chaitra 20, today, said that 43 claims have been filed by 11 insurance companies for the damage caused by the riots. It is seen that the companies have to pay 48.768 million rupees for those claims. So far, one company has paid 45,12 rupees for 3 claims.
The highest amount of claims for the damage caused by the riots has been filed by the National Insurance Company. This company has to pay Rs 12.7 million for 2 claims.
The second largest claim is against Siddhartha Premier Insurance. The authority has stated that the company has to pay Rs 11.75 million for 8 claims.
Sagarmatha Lumbini Insurance has to pay Rs 6.891 million for 5 claims, Neco Insurance has to pay Rs 5.2 million for 4 claims, Oriental Insurance has to pay Rs 4.75 million for 1 claim, National Insurance has to pay Rs 2.075 million for 11 claims, Himalayan Everest Insurance has to pay Rs 1.695 million for 1 claim, IGI Prudential Insurance has to pay Rs 1.46 million for 4 claims, Shikhar Insurance has to pay Rs 1.325 million for 5 claims, Nepal Insurance has to pay Rs 8.71 million for 1 claim and Prabhu Insurance has to pay Rs 50,000 for 1 claim.
So far, Shikhar Insurance has paid 45 thousand 12 rupees for 3 claims. The remaining companies have not paid a single claim.
The authority had directed on Chaitra 17 to settle the insurance claim payment of the Huldanga riots as soon as possible.
