Industry Minister urges to increase production and productivity and export Nepali goods

Kathmandu. Kathmandu: The 10th edition of Nepal International Trade Fair 2025 kicked off at Bhukritimandap in Kathmandu today. Organized by the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) in collaboration with the Government of Nepal, Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Supplies and Trade and Export Promotion Centre, the fair is being co-organized by Lalitpur Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Federation of Domestic and Small Industries.

Inaugurating the fair, Minister for Industry, Commerce and Supplies Damodar Bhandari said the government was working for policy reforms as stated by the private sector.

Stating that the role of the private sector in making Nepal’s economy self-reliant and prosperous was incomparable, he said the government was also making various policy reforms and facilitation efforts for industrial development, marketing of indigenous products and export promotion.

“We have prioritized the revival of sick industries, identification of new industrial possibilities and creating an investment-friendly environment. I believe that this fair will provide a suitable platform for exploring such opportunities and collaborating. Minister Bhandari said.

Stating that industrial development and private sector promotion have been given priority in the policies and programmes presented in parliament recently, he said the government was with the private sector in the economic development of the country.

Minister Bhandari said that the fair would help establish the quality and originality of Nepali goods in the global market and to brand the indigenous products and urged the Nepali entrepreneurs to increase their competitive ness.
