Kathmandu. Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB), the central bank of Nepal, has introduced new banknotes of Rs 100 denomination in the market.
The central bank has issued a symbol number of Rs 100 in the previous size and color. The new banknote has been introduced with the promise ‘If you come to ask for payment of the money guaranteed by the Government of Nepal, you will get Rs 100 from Nepal Rastra Bank immediately’.
What are the features?
- There is a water stamp of rhododendron on the right side of the note.
- Two mm There is a security thread that changes color (red when looking directly at the note and green when tilted).
- The series number of the note on the border of the lower part of the note is ‘B.S. 2081’ is written.

In the middle of the note, there is a picture of the Ashoka Pillar and in English it is written ‘Lumbini: The Birth Place of Lord Buddha’.TAG_OPEN_li_34 Also, along with the Ashoka Pillar, there is a black dot for the visually impaired to identify the note and on the left there is a picture of Mayadevi in silver metallic inside the oval.
TAG_OPEN_li_32 The note has the signature of the then Governor Maha Prasad Adhikari at the place where the governor’s application is made.

- The bottom border of the note reads “Rupees One Hundred” in English.
The “Nepal TAG_OPEN_li_30 Rastra Bank” is written in English at the top of the bank.
TAG_OPEN_li_29 In the middle of the note, there is a picture of a mother and a baby one-horned rhinoceros.
The series number of the note is written in English as “202 TAG_OPEN_li_27 4 A.D.” on the border at the bottom of the note.
Earlier, the banknote of Rs. 100 (Series 2019) was issued from September 23, 2019. O18-000001 to O37-999999 Notice has been published indicating that the number of O18-000001 to O37-999999 will be put into circulation. O18-000001 to K19-034500 were only put into circulation.
