In the Genji movement, Rs. Physical damage worth Rs. 23.43 billion Rs 4 billion insurance claim paid

Kathmandu. A total of 3,255 insurance claims have been filed against non-life insurance companies for physical and other damages during the agitation of September 7 and 24. Out of this, about Rs 4.02 billion claim amount has been paid to the insured by making advance payment so far.

According to the data provided by the NEA, out of the total claim amount paid by 14 non-life and four micro insurance insurance companies, 695 claims towards property insurance have been paid to about Rs 3.09 billion out of Rs 19.03 billion and 2,295 claims towards motor insurance have been paid to Rs 84.85 crore out of Rs 3.44 billion.

Similarly, under engineering and contract risk insurance, 209 claims have been claimed amounting to Rs 550.4 million, under the transport insurance insurance policy, about Rs 16.9 million has been claimed, and for 44 claims, about Rs 3.9 million out of claim amount has been paid.

Nepal Reinsurance Company (NBIN) has paid Rs 2.51 billion in advance to the non-life insurance companies to pay the insurance claims for the physical and other damages caused during the GenG agitation. According to the latest data of the NRA, the claim amount of 2,860 reinsurance claims received by Nepal Reinsurance Company is around Rs 15.81 billion.
