Kathmandu. Commercial banks have increased their investment in the construction sector. This is according to the data released by Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) in the first 4 months of the current fiscal year.
According to the statistics, 20 commercial banks have invested Rs 211.14 billion in loans in the construction sector till mid-November of the current fiscal year. Previous fiscal year 2081. Laxmi Sunrise Bank is the second largest lender in the construction sector. The bank has disbursed Rs 22.70 billion in loans till mid-November. The bank had disbursed Rs 18.10 billion in the same period last year. The bank’s loan investment increased by Rs 25.43 billion in the review period compared to the previous year.
NIC Asia Bank is the third bank. In the review period, the bank disbursed loan of Rs 16.65 billion to Rs 21.09 billion in the review period from Rs 16.65 billion in the previous year.
In the review period, the loan investment of Kumari Bank, Agricultural Development Bank, Standard Chartered Bank, Nepal Investment Mega Bank, Siddhartha Bank and Nepal SBI Bank decreased in comparison to the previous year. Although the remaining 15 banks have increased their loan investment, Citizens Bank has the highest growth rate of 39.87 percent.
