IGI Prudential Insurance Launches New Insurance Policy to Make Nepal Safer Tourist Destination

Kathmandu. Giving priority to the safety and trust of foreign tourists visiting Nepal, IGI Prudential Insurance in collaboration with Himalayan Guardian Nepal (HGN) Trekking and Security Equipment Management Company has launched a new insurance scheme targeting foreign tourists.

Foreign tourists especially coming to different parts of Nepal for trekking, trekking and mountaineering will now get a secure insurance policy upon landing in Nepal. Company’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Yugesh Bhakta Bade Shrestha informed that the new policy has been launched to make Nepal a safer tourism destination.

Under this policy, the company will provide three levels of protection. The first is for cultural trips, educational trips and leisure trips, the second for trekking and the third for mountain climbing. This will enable tourists to travel safely and confidently.

CEO Shrestha informed that the insurance policy also provides easy and cashless treatment in case of any such accident during the journey. Every tourist purchasing this insurance policy will have special equipment connected to satellite. In case of an emergency, passengers can directly contact service providers and doctors for immediate rescue by pressing the button. The injured tourists will be able to get treatment at the hospitals along with land and helicopter services in an easy manner depending on their condition.

Finally, every tourist will be able to explore, sightsee, trek, or climb mountains in every part of Nepal with confidence and safety.

  • Emergency Rescue Costs: Includes the cost of a rescue service by helicopter or land.
  • Medical expenses: Expenses incurred on hospital treatment, surgery, medicines, and other health services.
  • High Risk Area or Altitude Safety: Coverage for health problems or risks occurring at different altitudes.
  • Disability or Death Benefit: The sum insured paid in case of permanent disability or death from an accident.

The company believes that this insurance policy will help increase the number of tourists in Nepal and increase their length of stay. The company believes that Nepal would achieve further progress in the tourism sector and would be known as a safe tourist destination in the world.

CEO Shrestha also informed that the insurance policy can be easily purchased through trekking and tourism agencies registered in Nepal. “Our goal is not only to sell insurance but also to make all tourists feel safe and provide immediate support in saving life of tourists in times of crisis,” he said.
