Kathmandu. The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), the world’s largest organization of technicians and engineers, has established a branch in Nepal Engineering College. The IEEE was established by organizing a program at the college on Sunday.
College Principal Durga Prasad Bhandari and IEEE Nepal Section Chief Dr. Arun Kumar Timilsina inaugurated the branch. IEEE Nepal Engineering College Student Wing is the official student wing of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (ICE), the world’s largest organization of technicians and engineers. Durga Prasad Bhandari, Principal of the college, said that IEEE has been established in the college to promote technological innovation, research and professional development, to conduct workshops, seminars, competitions, and technical programs, to connect students to global resources, guidance and networks, and to increase student engagement with conferences, publications and societies conducted by IEEE.
Principal Bhandari said that IEEE will help the students to develop practical skills, leadership skills and exposure to the industry.
Speaking at the program, IEEE Nepal Section Chief Dr. Prof. Arun Kumar Timilsina said that IEEE will bring researchers, academic experts, technical experts from universities, industries and government institutions from all over the world on a single platform to exchange experiences, knowledge, and research results in the field of electrical power and energy.
It provides students with both practical and theoretical knowledge in the fields of electrical power systems, basic principles of electronics and communications, renewable and sustainable energy systems, industrial automation and control, and electrical and electronics engineering. IEEE is an American charitable professional organization. It has a global network of more than 486,000 different professional engineers.
Along with engineering studies, the college has been motivating the students for various national and international research and research to enhance their skills, skills and abilities.
