Kathmandu. KATHMANDU: Former Finance Minister Bishnu Prasad Poudel has apologized for his past mistakes, weaknesses and mistakes.
In a message of best wishes on the occasion of the Constitution Day, former Finance Minister and CPN-UML leader Poudel apologized to the people. “The decisions taken by the UML in the past, the works carried out and their results will be seriously reviewed,” he said, adding, “I personally apologize for the mistakes, weaknesses and mistakes made by me.” ’
Poudel paid tribute to the martyrs of the Jenji movement and extended condolences to the bereaved family members and relatives. “I wish speedy recovery to the injured,” he said.
Poudel has expressed his hope that the Council of Ministers formed under the leadership of Prime Minister Sushila Karki would fulfill important responsibilities like maintaining peace and tranquility, controlling corruption and maintaining good governance, reconstructing public and private structures damaged during the Genji movement and holding the House of Representatives election on the stipulated date. He called on the government to conduct an impartial investigation into the violence, killings, vandalism and arson during the Jenji movement, take action against the culprits as per the law and reconstruct damaged public and private structures at the earliest.
Failure to understand and address the aspirations, dissatisfaction and anger of the people, especially the youth, and lack of expected improvement in corruption control, good governance and service delivery were the main reasons behind the Genji movement, Poudel said. “But the killings, violence, vandalism and arson that took place during the protests are equally condemnable,” he said.
“Now we have the responsibility to establish the party as a dynamic and change-driving force in the country as it is one with the people, especially the new generation, and has the decisive contribution of youths in policy making and leadership formation,” Poudel said. “I express the belief that the party’s organization, working style and conduct will change accordingly,” he said.
“Today is the historic day of Constitution Day on Asoj 3. On the occasion of the Constitution Day, I would like to express my heartfelt best wishes to all so that all Nepalis could contribute to protect, use and development of the constitution by learning from the past experiences and move ahead in an effective way towards development, prosperity and social justice with mutual goodwill and unity.”
