Kathmandu. Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak has resigned on moral grounds following the massive loss of lives in the Zenji movement.
The writer submitted his resignation to Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli at a meeting of the Council of Ministers held this evening. Earlier, the writer had informed his party, the Nepali Congress, that he would not be in office.
Genji protested against the government today against corruption and mismanagement and censorship of social media. It has been reported that 17 people were killed in the demonstration in Kathmandu and two in the demonstration in Ihatari. So far, more than 300 people are undergoing treatment at various hospitals across the country.
