Kathmandu. A 38-year-old iconic hotel located at Kupandol Height in Lalitpur has been upgraded to a himalayan five-star hotel.
According to the hotel management, the Department of Tourism has recognized five-star hotels with the addition of infrastructure in the hotel premises. This hotel is the second five-star hotel in Lalitpur Sub-Metropolitan City. The five-star hotel Vivanta is already in operation with the joint investment of Chaudhary Group and Ravi Bhakta Shrestha.
In Lalitpur Sub-Metropolitan City, Chaudhary Group is constructing two (Jhamsikhel) and Kupandol Heights (Summit Hotel in the past) and Guna Group is constructing a five-star hotel with a capacity of 300 rooms in Guarco.
The hotel was recognized as a four-star hotel in 2017. Hotel Himalaya and Hotel Shankar were operating as only four-star hotels in the kathmandu valley in the initial phase, but with the addition of investment in hotel infrastructure, other four-star level hotels have also been added.
Located in Lalitpur Ward No. 10, the hotel is spread over an area of 6.58 acres. With the construction of the new five-storey building, the hotel has prepared a total of 126 rooms for the guests. According to the Department of Tourism, the hotel has a total capacity of 200 beds.
The hotel is located at a distance of 8 km from Tribhuvan International Airport and 2 km from Sundhar in Kathmandu. Listed on the World Heritage List, Patan Durbar Square is located at a distance of 1.5 kilometers from the hotel.
Within the hotel premises, the traditionally built Kumari Temple and a magnificent garden decorated in a captivating manner give visitors a sense of quiet environment even in the midst of the city’s crowds.
The hotel has added a laundry, health club, extended parking, two swimming pools with facilities, among others. Apart from this, structures have been constructed in all sections of the building so that people with disabilities have easy access.
Visitors can enjoy a panoramic view of the magnificent Himalayan range from the hotel garden. Cafe Horizon, an international restaurant, offers the best food as well as food in the bedroom for more personally interested food. There is a tennis court, swimming pool and health club inside the hotel premises for the physical and mental health of the guests.
Hotel Himalaya Pvt. Ltd. Ltd. It was started in 2032 BS from 96 rooms and later in 2066/67 BS, the fourth floor was added to the old building and it was upgraded to 125 rooms with 200 beds.
