Kathmandu. The government is going to run a national health insurance campaign for one month every year in Baisakh.
The Ministry of Health and Population announced today that it will run a national health insurance campaign for the entire month of Baisakh every year through the implementation action plan of the report of the Health Insurance Reform Suggestions Task Force. The ministry has stated that the action plan to run this campaign is aimed at increasing citizen awareness on health insurance.
According to the ministry, health insurance will be run as a health insurance affiliation and renewal campaign for one month every year (Baisakh). The Health Insurance Board has been given the responsibility of running this campaign, while the Ministry of Health and Population will play the role of a supporting agency.
The ministry also has an action plan to include health insurance-related topics in the secondary and higher secondary level curricula. The responsible bodies for this will be the Health Insurance Board, and the supporting bodies will be the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology.
The ministry has stated that awareness regarding health insurance will be raised through various means to increase insurance literacy.
