Kathmandu. Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) Preparations are being made to bring the annual monetary policy of 83 today.
Governor Bishwanath Poudel is going to bring the annual monetary policy along with the budget for the upcoming fiscal year. This will be his first monetary policy as governor.
Governor Adhikari had called a meeting of the management committee on Thursday to discuss the draft monetary policy. He is said to have included most of the suggestions received from the ‘Banking Sector Reform Suggestion Task Force’ in the draft monetary policy.
Rastra Bank’s Department of Economic Research had prepared a draft of the monetary policy a few days ago and sent it to the management committee. According to rastra bank sources, the discussion was held in yesterday’s management committee meeting incorporating the suggestions given by the task force in the same draft.
According to sources, a meeting of the board of directors has been called this afternoon. “A meeting of the board of directors is scheduled to be held after 1 pm and it is likely to be made public today itself after the same meeting approves the monetary policy,” the source said. ’
Governor Poudel has given priority to the capital market and banking sector in the monetary policy. Most of the suggestions made by the task force have been included in the monetary policy, according to rastra bank sources.
