Kathmandu. Dr Bishwanath Poudel has been appointed as the 18th Governor of Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB).
A meeting of the Council of Ministers held at Baluwatar today decided to appoint Poudel as governor. Earlier, the Governor Recommendation Committee had recommended Poudel, acting governor Nilam Dhungana and former secretary Dinesh Bhattarai. Poudel has succeeded in becoming the governor by defeating Dhungana and Bhattarai.
Governor Poudel’s signature will now run on the new banknote. Poudel uses two dots with the underline of the full name in his signature. He doesn’t give a deco in his name.
