Kathmandu. The Office of Auditor General, Department of Immigration, in collaboration with Nepal Clearing House Limited (NCHL) has launched the Revenue Management Information System (RMIS) online revenue payment portal of the Government of Nepal, which allows payment related to Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA/evisa) from international cards.
Finance Minister Rameshwor Prasad Khanal inaugurated the service amid a function held at the Office of Financial Comptroller General in Kathmandu on Friday. The event was attended by the Chief Secretary, Finance Secretary, Auditor General, Director General of Department of Immigration and senior officials of the Ministry of Finance, Department of Immigration, Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) and NCHL.
With the launch of this service, international tourists can now pay for ETA-/e-visa (https://nepaliport.immigration.gov.np/eta-visa-processing) and visa on arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) using their various international cards. This is expected to simplify the online visa application process and improve the quality of services at the Department of Immigration and Tribhuvan International Airport.
The various payments can be made through connectIPS Gateway, connectIPS web÷App, and government tax and non-tax revenue payments through NepalPay QR code. With the addition of international card payment facility for revenue collection, the use of electronic payments is expected to increase further with ETA/e-visa being included in the first phase of government revenue collection. This service will also be extended to other departments and revenue collection offices for various government payments in the coming days.
NCHL is continuously working in collaboration with Office of Financial Comptroller General and Ministry of Finance to digitize government expenditure and revenue payments. In the fiscal year 2081÷82 alone, the government’s transaction of Rs 1,219 billion and revenue transaction of Rs 366 billion was settled through NCHL’s systems.
