Kathmandu. Embark UnMath is introducing the Global Math Debate League (GMDL) in Nepal for the first time, bringing together mathematical thinking and debate in one place, a new experience never seen before in the country. Britannica Education is the knowledge partner for the event, which will be held in January 2026.
GMDL presents mathematics not just as numbers and formulas, but as a universal language of thinking and communication. The program encourages students to use mathematics as a means of expressing ideas, showing creativity, discussing, and using them in everyday life.
Speaking about the Global Math Debate League, Dibesh Bathija, Co-Founder, Embark UnMath, said, “The Global Math Debate League is about looking beyond just calculation. Through this league, students get to debate ideas, challenge themselves, and experience mathematics coming to life in a whole new way. ‘
Over 5,000 students from schools across Nepal will participate in the program in three phases. These include screening round, regional selection and national final round.
