Global IME Bank celebrates 25th week of ‘Global Haat Bazaar’

Kathmandu. Global IME Bank Limited has celebrated The International Micro, Small and Medium Business Day in a grand manner. The bank had launched the Global Haat Bazaar with the objective of facilitating the marketing of goods produced by micro, small and medium enterprises (SMEs) who have invested in their loans.

The bank has organized a special fair at its haat bazaar on the occasion of International Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Day and the 25th week of haat bazaar on Friday. With the theme of ‘Entrepreneur’s Product, Promotion of Global IME’, the Bank has been operating haat bazaar every Friday at Kamaladi branch of the bank with the aim of expanding the market access to the products of micro, small and medium enterprises operating with its investment.

Chief Executive Officer of the Bank Surendra Raj Regmi said that micro, small and medium businesses have an important role to play in the country’s economy.

Regmi said the haat bazaar has played a supportive role in expanding the market access of micro, small and medium enterprises contributing to building a sustainable and green economy, creating direct link between farmers and consumers and providing fair price to farmers for their produce.

Regmi said the haat bazaar has encouraged organic, indigenous and local products, facilitated marketing and encouraged Nepali producers. “The haat bazaar, which we have launched as a small and symbolic campaign, has become widespread till date. In addition, this haat bazaar will contribute significantly to the promotion of organic, indigenous and local products of Nepal and will encourage the producers.”

Products and materials of more than two dozen farmers and entrepreneurs, including pesticide-free agricultural produce, indigenous crops and corresponding crops, handicraft items produced using local resources, saplings used in decoration, have been put on display and sale in the haat bazaar. Keeping in view the convenience of its customers, the bank has been benefiting the customers by bringing various types of time-relevant plans.
